High School Equivalency Diploma

Updated on May 9, 2019

These websites and apps help you to study for the most common tests required to earn a high school equivalency (HSE) diploma –  the GED®, HiSET® and TASC™.  A high school diploma or certificate is required for most kinds of jobs or college admission.  If you have not completed high school or received a diploma, all states offer adult education and a path to an HSE diploma or certificate.

Each state sets its own requirements for this diploma or certificate.  Many state and non-profit organizations offer free courses to study for the tests.  There are also free online courses described below.  You must take the tests at a state-approved facility, and there is usually a cost for the tests.

To find the specific requirements in your state, take a look at the High School Equivalency Requirements by State.  If you are looking for online classes to practice tests to prep for the GED, read our article on Free GED Classes.
